Happy Sunday!!! Oklahoma (20) broke an all time record by overcoming a 25 point deficit to beat Baylor (5). Georgia (6) gave Auburn (9) its 3rd top 10 loss of the year (the most difficult schedule in the country). Iowa (13) tolled midnight for Minnesota (15) – not what the GCR predicted, but my friend Jason did say it was a going to be a let down game for the Golden Gophers. Clemson (2) put up 50…again. Tua is out and in the second half Alabama (3) beat Mississippi State (99/90) 3-0 without him. We have a new #1…for the FCS. James Madison (64/1) took down Richmond (213/85) while Dartmouth (66/2) was upset by Cornell (211/83) in what was the biggest GCR % upset. Cornell had a 2.3% chance to beat previously undefeated Dartmouth but prevailed 20-17. Congratulations Big Red!!
We have a new top 4 yet again. We had decent stability in the upper echelon in September and most of October, but it’s Crazy November when weird things happen to projections. The top 4 are now: LSU, Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State with the next 2 out being Baylor (the GCR sees their 3-point loss to Oklahoma as better than Oklahoma’s 7-point loss to #34 Kansas State) and Georgia who clinched the SEC East.
Tonight we will talk about the new bowl-eligible (and not) teams, the road each contender has to the playoffs, the summary of the GCR picks, and a different look at conferences and divisions. In the meantime, here is the GCR (I’m trying to beat the AP poll publication, but think I missed it). From LSU to Akron (yes an FBS team is worse than ALL of the FCS teams):
