G’s Evaluation or The Top 263 for Week 12

Welcome back college football fans as another crazy week upended the GCR (and AP and Playoff Rankings). Congratulations to the underdogs who came out in force yesterday: Fordham (win #2) over 5-win Georgetown; Mississippi Valley (first win of the year) over 5-win Florida A&M; Furman (3rd) over 6-win E Tennessee St. In the FBS: Stanford (3rd) over 6-win Louisville; Kansas (4th) over previously unbeaten BYU; LA Tech (4th) over 7-win W Kentucky; New Mexico (4th) over 8-win Washington St.

Congratulations to Arkansas St, Baylor, Bowling Green, Buffalo, East Carolina, N Illinois, North Carolina, Miami OH, Rutgers, Texas St, and Washington for reaching bowl eligibility. That brings us to 64 of the required 82. In the FCS, we now have at least 7 more qualified teams than the playoffs can hold as E Kentucky, Lehigh, Morehead St, N Arizona, New Hampshire, San Diego, and William & Mary join the club. Back to the FBS, Ball St, C Michigan, Charlotte, FIU, Hawaii, San Diego St, and Tulsa picked up the dreaded 7th loss eliminating them from the bowl picture this year. That’s 64 teams in, 30 teams out, and 40 on the bubble with two weeks to go.
