G’s Expectation or The Games of March 9!

Welcome back, college sports fans! The regular season is officially over for every conference which means that from now until the first week of April, if a team loses, they go home. Conference tourneys are still moving forward so there are a few second chances out there, but a loss now could be the difference in seeding, or even which tournament (NCAA, NIT, etc.), if any, sends the invitation. Every game is now listed in the tables below.

…..

An error-correction. G put the ASUN Women’s Championship Game on Sunday when that game is being played today. Apologies for any confusion. There were 8 conference champions who punched their Women’s NCAA tickets yesterday: Duke (ACC), High Point (Big South), Rhode Island (A10), Samford (SoCon), South Dakota St (Summit), Texas (SEC), UCLA (Big Ten), and West Virginia (Big 12). There were 4 conference champions on the men’s side: High Point (Big South), N Iowa (Missouri Valley), North Dakota St (Summit), and Queens (ASUN). Special congratulations to High Point for being a double winner!

…..

Yesterday, on the women’s side, the GCR correctly picked 17 out of 20 (.850) winners. That brings the 2-day total to 42-9 (.823). As a reminder, the Prediction column assumes a neutral site although not all Round 1 games are such, and both the Score and RPIF metrics agree on the winner. If they do not, we publish “NO PRED.” We do have four more finals today and some new conferences joining the fray. Here are the 26 games for today.

That’s it for today. We are not publishing the Top 363 and Top 365 this week while we are focusing on the conference tourneys. Look for a giant-sized episode on Monday, March 16 that will have both men’s and women’s rankings prior to the tournaments (NCAA, NIT, etc.). Thank you for reading and sharing with others, JoJo and G.
