G’s Exploration or We’re in the Top 20!

Greetings, oh great and wonderful football fans, from just north of Toronto! Yes, the GCR is international for the next little bit of time. This post will be incredibly short because the conference in the 20th most difficult average schedule isn’t really a conference at all. If it were, it would be the only one with a 100% change rate. Last year, the Kennesaw St Owls were the lone FCS Independent team, but in 2024 they will play in the Group of 5’s Conference USA. From one to zero but wait! Two members of the Northeast Conference in 2023, dropped out because their colleges moved to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference which has not had football since 2007. Sacred Heart and Merrimack are now FCS independent football teams. From zero to two. Will they find a conference next year? Marist (another member of the MAAC) plays in the Pioneer League for football so it’s possible.

…..

In the short table below, (D) indicates a game against a non-Division I opponent, (F) indicates a game against an FCS opponent not each other, and (G) indicates a game against a Group of 5 team. I bring you 2024 FCS Independents.
