JoJo’s Exploration or the 20th Most Difficult Conference

Welcome back oh great and wonderful college football fans! As G would say, it’s the beautiful and very intelligent daughter here taking over for this blog! A little bit about me for the readers who are not familiar with me, my name is JoJo, and I am a math major at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (go Mocs!!!!). This is my first blog post and I will be taking over the blog for the next few weeks while my dad is on vacation (which I was not invited to by the way). Well, of course, someone had to take care of GCR business over here!

…..

This week we are going to be looking at the Southland Conference, which is 20th out of 25 for most difficult schedule! The Rio Grande Vaqueros located in Edinburg, TX, is rejoining college football this season! Undefeated since 1950 (because they disbanded the program), the Vaqueros join the conference to play teams primarily located in Texas and Louisiana! They are playing a weaker schedule this season, but we cannot wait to see them play some football again after 75 years! It’s not looking good for the Northwestern St Demons who are playing Core 4 teams (Minnesota and Cincinnati) but maybe they can steal a win this year! I’ve been following Incarnate Word for the last two years, and they went deep into the playoffs last year, and they are predicted to be a very strong team for this conference this season!

…..

In the table below, (F) indicates games against non-conference FCS teams, (D) indicates games against non-Division I opponents, (G) indicates games against Group of 5 foes, and (4) indicates games against Core 4 schools. Without further ado, we are proud to present the 2025 Southland Conference Preseason Strength of Schedule (SOS) Ranking.

…..

That’s it for today! Thank you for reading, and especially for sharing with others! If you would like, please provide some feedback so that we can work to make this blog even better for you! I look forward to working with you for these next couple weeks! JoJo
