Welcome back sports fans as we look into the NCAA Sweet 16 for the women. Yesterday, we predicted the men’s games and are 4-0 so far. Again, the GCR rankings are up to date with all games played including every post season tournament, although I won’t publish the Top 362 until the season is over. By the way, the NIT is still playing, and I’ll predict the semis and finals for them later (same for the men although I didn’t mention it yesterday and was called out on it by my quality control team, aka, my daughter).
…..
There are 5 conferences that are represented with the SEC leading the way (6), followed by the ACC (4), the Big Ten (3), the Big 12 (2), and the Big East (1). Yesterday, the higher seeded team (listed second) men’s team was favored, but that is not the case for the women. The 3-seed LSU Tigers are favored over the 2-seed NC St Wolfpack, albeit the closest contest. With no further ado, here is how I predict the games:
Team (Conf) | Record/ Rank | GCR Score | Team (Conf) | Record/ Rank | GCR Score | Winner/ Pct to Win |
North Carolina (ACC) | 29-7/11 | 53.76 | Duke (ACC) | 28-7/7 | 57.14 | DUKE 55.1% |
Maryland (B10) | 25-7/12 | 52.65 | South Carolina (SEC) | 33-3/1 | 65.91 | SCAR 69.9% |
LSU (SEC) | 30-5/8 | 57.02 | NC St (ACC) | 28-6/9 | 56.50 | LSU 50.8% |
Mississippi (SEC) | 22-10/34 | 43.79 | UCLA (B10) | 32-2/2 | 64.61 | UCLA 81.2% |
Notre Dame (ACC) | 28-5/10 | 56.16 | TCU (B12) | 33-3/6 | 57.62 | TCU 52.5% |
Tennessee (SEC) | 24-9/19 | 48.69 | Texas (SEC) | 33-3/3 | 63.21 | TEX 71.8% |
Oklahoma (SEC) | 27-7/15 | 50.30 | UCONN (Big East) | 33-3/4 | 62.16 | UCON 67.8% |
Kansas St (B12) | 28-7/13 | 51.13 | Southern Cal (B10) | 30-3/5 | 61.55 | SCAL 65.6% |
…..
Yep, the GCR predicts the Elite 8 will have 3 SEC and 2 Big Ten teams along with one each from the ACC, Big 12, and Big East. Enjoy the games. Thank you for reading and especially for sharing with others, G
