G’s Evaluation or The Top 258 for Week 11

We had a 62-yard FG not only to win the game, but also make Texas Tech (52) bowl eligible. We had a spiked ball to stop the clock with less than 3 seconds, apparently illegal, which ended Miami FL’s (46) hope for a hail mary in the most awkward way I can think of. We had 6 1-win teams pick up their second victory. We had Oklahoma (12) pick up its first loss to Baylor (14). We had Dixie St (248) pick up its first win against non-Division I Fort Lewis. They became the 4th team – Northwestern St (244), Presbyterian (252), and Butler (253), each of whom has 2 non-D1 victories – who get to claim they aren’t winless, but can’t beat a D1 team. 11 teams became bowl eligible (C Michigan, W Michigan, Boise St, Army, Mississippi St, East Carolina, W Kentucky, Boston College, Texas Tech, Oregon St, and UCLA) bringing the total to 60 qualified teams for the 78 available spots. 12 teams dropped out of the running with the dreaded 7th loss (Bowling Green, Temple, Northwestern, Rice, Texas St, Duke, Hawaii, Georgia Tech, Stanford, New Mexico, Colorado St, and Colorado) bringing that total to 31. That leaves 39 teams who have fates yet to be determined with 2 weeks to go.

…..

The top teams are new again this week as Oklahoma fell to the GCR #2 curse and Alabama fell out of the top 4 because of a SOS issue (look for more teams following suit next week). Georgia (1) remained top dawg yet again with Michigan (2) taking the cursed spot. Notre Dame (3) and Ohio St (4) take the next 2 spots with Oklahoma St (5) and Alabama (6) looking in. The other perfect teams are Cincinnati (7), UTSA (11), and Sam Houston (62). Morgan St (258) with a loss to Albany (238) retook the final spot for this week. Here are the complete rankings. Thanks for reading and especially for sharing with others, G
