G’s Expectation or Happy Friday

Good morning everyone!! There are 5 games on the slate today and I decided to do a tale of the tape instead of a lot of words today. We’ll see how that goes, but first, congratulations to La Tech who not only won their 6th straight bowl, but got their first ever 10-win season by beating Miami 14-0. That gives C-USA 2 double digit winners meaning just the ACC and MAC are left with fewer. The MAC didn’t have a standout team this year and will end up with no team with 10 wins, while the ACC still has a chance for 2. Virginia will have to beat Florida to join Clemson. Pittsburgh kept coming from behind last night and finally prevailed over Central Michigan 34-30. The GCR was 1-1 yesterday taking us to 9-5, 7-4 in the FBS so far.

The 5 games today feature 3 games with both teams being Power 5 schools. The competition is heating up – let’s hope the GCR predictions are too. I’m only picking one upset – Oklahoma State over Texas A&M. The others match up with Vegas. Here’s the tale of the tape (all times Eastern):

I think Iowa will win by more than 2.5 and I think Air Force will hold on, but it will be very tight. North Carolina and Temple are a toss up.

Enjoy today’s games and I’ll check back in tomorrow morning (no, I’m not staying up until 2:30am to watch the Cheez-it Bowl.

Thanks, G
