G’s Evaluation or the Top 258 for Week 6

Good morning all you wonderful college football fans. Many of you were probably watching Texas A&M (45) refusal to bow down to Alabama (11). What a fantastic game on a day of fantastic games! 6 other teams – Penn St (9), BYU (29), Wyoming (36), UC Davis (114), South Dakota St (131), and James Madison (133) – joined the Tide in tasting defeat for the first time. UC Davis lost to Idaho St (233) who picked up their first victory! Joining the Bengals, were UMASS (138), Brown (225), and Northwestern St (242) with wins number 1. UMASS and Northwestern St beat winless teams – UCONN (183) and Houston Baptist (255), respectively, but still.

After all of that we have a two-conference top 4. If the playoffs were today and they wisely used the GCR (need a sarcasm emoji), Georgia (1) would be playing Kentucky (4) – which coincidentally is next week’s game of the week, and Iowa (2) would play Michigan (4) – a likely Big 10 championship game.

…..

More to come on all that in this evening’s G’s Explanation, but with no further ado, here is the GCR with an added column on SOS Rank (1 is the most difficult schedule – yes, Rutgers had Michigan, Ohio St, and Michigan St in back to back weeks: a combined 17-1). From Georgia who has outscored their opponents 239-33 to Lehigh (258) who have been outscored 258-9 – yes, 9 points in 6 games – here they are in all their glory.

That’s it for now – enjoy your Sunday, G
