Welcome back, college football fans, to episode 707 which is all about our second set of five consecutive days of college football. This week was Tuesday-Saturday but Week 1 (not to be confused with Week 0) was Thursday-Monday. This time, instead of one big game (SMU beat Florida St 27-24), we have a full slate of 94 games on day 5. One game was cancelled as West Florida (3-2/171) was supposed to host Non-Division I Northeastern St. West Florida is in Pensacola who bore the brunt of Isaias’ landfall. We certainly hope that everyone is ok.

We have a couple of perfect matchups today. At 12:00 (all times Eastern), the Big Ten features Indiana (5-0/12) at Nebraska (5-0/10). In the AP, Indiana is 7th and Nebraska is unranked. Look for what will be called a big upset as the Cornhuskers give the Hoosiers their first loss since 2024. The SEC, at 7:30, has their own version, although both teams are ranked in the AP, when Georgia (5-0/7) invades Alabama (5-0/1). The GCR sees more woe for the Bulldogs at the hands of the Tide. We also have our first pillow fight (JoJo’s favorite game of the day) of the season when Utah Tech (0-6/262) takes on Portland St (1-4/265) – a Bottom 5 matchup! Portland St is favored, but the GCR sees an upset – look for Utah Tech to get their first win. That game is at 4:00.

Of the 94 games today, 88 of them are “on level” meaning Core 4 vs Core 4, Group of 6 vs Group of 6, or FCS vs FCS. We have 2 C4 vs G6 games and 4 FCS vs non-D1 teams. It’s a great slate with tons of games to choose from. For the record, the GCR was 4-3 picking the winner (straight up) yesterday bringing the week to 9-5 so far. The algorithm was just 3-4 against the spread taking us to 7-6 for the week. As a reminder, the GCR predictions are for entertainment only. We do not recommend using our data to place bets.
