Welcome back, college sports fans, to a new day of close games, overtime thrillers, and the occasional upset. After yesterday’s games we have just 126 teams left out of the original 256. 130 games played, 130 winners, 130 teams heading home. We have 28 more today. Let’s jump in.
…..
In the tables below, the Conf and Seeds columns are in the same order as the Games column. For NIT games, the second team listed is the home team. In the Seeds column, “U” indicates an unseeded team – note the Women’s NIT do not seed any teams, while the Men’s NIT seeds 50% of the teams. If the two GCR predictive metrics, Score and RPIF, disagree in their predictions, we post NPre. In those situations, each metric is “right” about half the time, which supports the NPre designation. Considering Men’s and Women’s games, the GCR was 17-5 (.772) yesterday predicting the winners bringing the total to 329-141 (.700).
The GCR was fairly accurate for the Women’s games yesterday going 10-3 (.769) bringing the total to 148-62 (.705). We did not pick Virginia over Georgia, Oklahoma St over Princeton, or Illinois over Colorado. There are 14 games today and 14 predictions. Going into today’s games, there are 80 teams still alive, meaning 77 games left to play before crowning the three champions (NCAA, CBIT, and NIT). 14 more teams will fall today. Here is today’s slate.

The GCR predictions for the Men was a respectable 7-2 (.778) bringing the total to 171-79 (.684). We missed Texas over Gongaza, (11th seed over 3rd seed), and Nebraska over Vanderbilt.
