Happy Tuesday sports fans for the last MACNation week of 2023. I’ll wait while you grab some tissue. This season has been a grind. The FCS is done except for a couple of games in the SWAC conference and the first round of the playoffs (more to come on that).

Last week, the GCR predicted FBS games, straight up (just who is going to win), at a nice 51-17 (.750) clip to bring the season to 508-190 (.728). Against the spread, a depressing 32-32 (.500) lowering this dreadful season to 296-277 (.517). The FCS in its last full-sized and rivalry week ended 35-22 (.614) bringing the season to 364-194 (.652). For the featured games, I went back through the files and got caught up year to date. For the week, straight up in these games was 8-5 (.615), dropping season to 44-14 (.759). ATS was a low 3-4 (.429) bringing the season to 24-16 (.600).

Congratulations to the top 8 seeds in the FCS playoff: South Dakota St, Montana, South Dakota, Idaho, Albany, Montana St, Furman, and Villanova. They all get byes this week, but the non-seeded teams line up like this.

NC Central is an interesting pick. They had the best record in the MEAC and deserve to be in the playoffs, but the MEAC normally doesn’t participate. Why are they? Their lone conference loss was to Howard who will now play the winner of the SWAC championship in the Celebration Bowl.
